In short, Brave Frontier is a MMO mixing usual softcore management (raise buildings, spend resources) with Final Fantasy-like battles and combat moves.

You have to collect the more characters the better. Not only to engross your muster of super-deformed big-headed heroes (chibis for the win), but also because you sacrifice those you don't want to empower your better cards. This, as nearly other feature this game can bring, isn't really original and can be found in nearly other game in the genre, but well, it's OK if you're into it.

Battles are quite spectacular, but you have little if any control over them. Characters execute flashy moves with redundant and bombastic names, but combat results are quite solved beforehand. In a similar way, quests go on till stats says otherwise. The game runs based on both an in-game
and premium currency, plus an energy bar, so it's likely you spend a few minutes every some hours on it once you beat the long tutorial beginnings.

In the end, a very recommendable game if you are looking for a MMO, although it's unlikely you're interested in if you're already playing another.

A modern take on pulp sci-fi and gamebooks

Out there follows the usual premises of gamebooks, or choice-you-own adventure, no matter how you call them. However, your choices aren't limited to choosing this or that path, as you have also to manage your ship and its upgrades, gather hints to decrypt alien languages and explore and probe planets you come by.

This game is vast and throughout all of it you will feel like, well, like an astronaut lost in an unknown galaxy, where every single choice can save your life (especially true if you're running our of oxygen) or throw yourself into a cold and quiet death. As many of the non-key elements ('triggers') are randomly generated, replayability is assured since the very first (of many, we hope) replay.

On the other hand, the lack of animated cutscenes and the poor quality of the current animations, regardless of how much of gamebooks can be found here; and the fact it's only translated to Alien, French and English and it'd hard to enjoy the game if you can't read fluently one or another.

Anyways, suited for teens and grownups and anyone knowledgeable about how the biggest adventures start by opening the cover of a book...or tapping on an icon on the desktop.
