Level up through gorgeous Mortal Combat-esque ninja fighting
Its predecessor was massively popular on Facebook, and now Nekki's Shadow Fight 2 is a ninja-flavored swirl cone of RPG-style story/upgrades and classical side-view fighting. It's a well-designed, delectable visual treat for both the casual dabblers and the superfan experts.
Plunge directly into the action; the tutorial is fully integrated with the story. You're a bodyless ninja - and yet, you cast a lethal shadow. Onscreen directional and limb buttons let you kick, punch, dodge, and even hack and slash should you be equipped with the right weaponry. Face your enemies one-on-one in detailed classic landscapes, in sacred dojos and atop pagodas. Battle your way through henchmen to get to the big bosses, some of whom are literally demonic. The storyline unfolds as you pick off your enemies and level up your skillset and equipment with the coinage you earn.
The silhouetted animation is smooth as silk. Sound design is also super high quality. The storyline might not be as rich as, say, Fukurō no Shiro, but it unquestionably adds a depth not usually seen in mobile fighting games. Controls have thoughtfully been designed for mobile touchscreens, although I'll admit I found myself wishing for hairpin responsive keys or mouse buttons instead just to take advantage of the wide array of moves available.
